THE RIVER

Mountainous and wild from Langogne to Langeac, the Allier flows across la Limagne de Langeac, and finds its way in the gorges of a narrow valley from Lavoûte-Chilhac, to Vieille-Brioude. At the opening of Vieille-Brioude, it then runs into la Limagne de Brioude.

The Allier answers everyone's needs : families, amateurs of spring tides as well as highly qualified sports people.

 

SPRING TIDES SPORTS CENTER

Many centres offer numerous activities : canoeing, kayaking, rafting, hot-dog and hydro speeding.
All organisations supply rental and transport
The Allier has been supplied with hydro-electrical technology, so, before going out, check the depth of the river.
Navigation is under regulation and authorised from the 1st of April to the 14 th of October inclusive, from 10.00 am to 6.30pm .
