The Joys of fishing

For all younglings and parents, passionate and experienced fishermen, tourists seeking rest.

A total of 3150km 1st and 2nd category rivers flow through La Haute-Loire, of which 2800km wild and protected of the first category, running through the most contrasting scenery (gorges and plains). 24 types of fish await to trifle with the fisherman : from the rare salmon (temporarily protected specie), to the leaping trout and the lively bleak.
An unpolluted river runs through Brioude, at the gateway of the Gorges du Haut-Allier. The Chevallier and Robert ponds near Brioude, as well as a section of the Allier, in between Tapon and Allevier, are managed by “la Société de Pêche” of Brioude.
